10-22-18 Prayer Request
Praying Saints
I found out last night about Hurricane Willa coming to Mexico from the Pacific. The epicenter of this hurricane is projected to hit just 30 miles north of us as a category 4 with 140 mph. winds. Normally I notice storms weaken before they hit, but this one has strengthened even more just over night. Today we, along with others from the church, are preparing our houses as much as possible to protect them from the wind and water. My worry about our house is that it’s close to the beach and every time we have a large amount of rain it has a hard time draining away. I am going to setup as much protection as possible to keep our furniture from being water damaged. We are being told, even by the locals, to get to higher ground and stay the night tomorrow when it hits. So, we are going to take the wisdom from the multitude and do that. A large part of me wants to stay and battle the water to save our belongings, but that would be foolish.
I am asking that you would pray fervently for us, the church, and the area. After less than 2 weeks of the category 4 hurricane that hit Florida, they are still syphering through the damage and without power and water. We believe this could do just as much damage here. We are preparing for the worst and praying for the best. We also know that in times of devastation is when people start looking up. Please pray over this with us. I had already planned on writing a prayer letter next week, so I will be sure to update everyone as soon as I can after all this is said and done.
