Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Many have asked about the property deal since our last prayer letter. It’s still not completely resolved and needs prayer. In February, there was a huge step in the right direction as the local government designated Angel as the property owner. From this, we wait to receive an official certificate that can then be brought to the national registry to start the process of privatizing the property in the church’s name. Pray we get the right certificate, smoothly and quickly, and for His provision so we may advance to the next stage in the process.

In February, the Lord sent us to a Spanish missions conference in California with Pastor Ezekiel Salazar, as a family! We haven’t traveled by airplane as a family since May of last year; and that was a rough on Sarah. It was a huge blessing to see her have stability, and control throughout the flight and still be able to attend the majority of the conference. It’s a testimony of how far the Lord has brought her health.

It’s been a long haul since this all started two and a half years ago: the first year in Mexico, and the last eighteen months here in North Carolina. I can honestly say, despite how hard it’s been, it’s probably the best thing that has happened to our family. The Lord has taught us a LOT, He has been prepping for the future vision He has given us, He has encouraged many people through our trials, and we pray He has been glorified and honored through it all, Revelations 4:11. Sarah is still not completely healed with full strength, and because of that we have been waiting for as long as the Lord holds us up. There are still some things the doctor wants to work on with her, but it seems the Lord is close to moving us along from NC.

On that note, we are going to Mexico as a family for the full month of May! There are some treatments that Sarah will be doing, that are not available/affordable to us in the US; so we are praying this will help to stabilize her even further. The whole month will be used for us to investigate options, figure out how/where to get things in Mexico that she’s currently getting in the US, and assess which mobility aids she’ll need and if they are available in Mexico, all with the goal to continue healing and maintain her health long-term in Mexico (as we have said, we are planning for longevity). The last two weeks of May, a group of teens and adults from our home church will be coming down for a 10 day missions trip. We are excited to share the place we consider “home” (Mexico) with our home church. We are praying that the Lord would use it to give them all a burden for souls, and call more laborers to the harvest fields!

Lord willing, we will come back from Mexico in June for a few more treatments with the doctor here in North Carolina, and shortly aſterwards start a mini-furlough to visit, encourage, and give testimony of what the Lord has done in the last seven years. We are waiting for further instruction from the Lord on His timing and direction in regards to that short furlough. Our desire is to be back in Mexico for good by the end of the year.

There are LOTS of preparations to be made before this can be done: repairs on our house in Mexico aſter a year and a half of not being there, setup for furlough to accommodate health needs, book meetings with churches, etc. As we said, we’d love your prayers for the Lord to direct us on how He’d like us to do it all. As the saying goes, “If you want to make God laugh, make plans.” We have tentative plans, but everything that we are planning has been long prayed on with fasting, and we’d appreciate your prayers as well for the Lord’s guidance and direction.

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for being encouraging and faithful through this whole trial with us!

Brothers and Sisters, keep up the good fight!

The Russell Family
