October 2026 Prayer Letter

Russells2Mexico.com Prayer Letterhead

Here we are in the fall, nearing the end of our very short furlough in the states. We’ve made it through one of the hottest US summers in a long time, seeing multiple record-breaking temperatures across all the states we’ve been traveling. Sarah and I joked together that we brought the heat from Mexico with us. It sure is nice to see it below a 90-degree average finally!

We’ve been very busy with constant meetings and lots of traveling. We have seen a good mix of churches that have supported us for the last 10 years, as well as new churches. We haven’t seen most of our supporting churches since we were on deputation 10 years ago, and it almost feels like all the meetings have been new churches. Some have new pastors, and all have many new members. It’s been great to see familiar faces as well as meet new people. I pray that we were a blessing and encouraged churches with all that He has done through their faithfulness to Him, and our family/ministry in Mexico. If you’d like to come visit us on a mission’s trip, either as a church group or a mission’s minded individual, we’d love to have you.

We are closer to having the full amount for the final payment on the property that’s due December 1st. We now have 87% of what is needed to FINALLY have it paid off by the end of next month. We’re thankful the church in Mexico is working hard at it, as well as some US churches giving towards it as we travel along to meetings. We know God will bring it all together- He hasn’t failed us yet!!

The ministry in Mexico continues to move along steadily with the normal “praise God” moments, and the frustrating “God will get us through this” moments. There is even a new family that has started coming since we came up for furlough. They’re being discipled by Angel, and staying faithful, praise God!

The paperwork to get the property privatized in the church’s name is still in process…five years later. Our lawyer says we are in the last step with finally receiving the document we need. Please join us in praying this will be completed and we can be done with this step, as well as the Lord’s provision for the final payment in December.

Our family is exhausted from the constant traveling, but we are doing very well. It’s tiring to be constantly on the move with a lack of stability, but it is also such a fun blessing to meet the brethren across the country and see the sites of America as we travel from state to state. It was great to see our former pastor that trained us up in the ministry, Bill Bailey, and his family, and we even got to see the giant ark out in Kentucky!

We appreciate everyone and their prayers, love, and financial support. Keep one foot in front of the other until we hear that final trump! Brothers and Sisters, keep up the good fight!
